Ms. Suttle-Field and Ms. Parlange
Clelia Parlange-Valdes, Counselor
This is my second year working as the School Counselor at Andres Elementary. I was born in Mexico and came to Austin in 2005. Prior to Andrews, I worked as a bilingual teacher in Austin ISD working with different grade levels. I obtained a Master Degree in Administration from Concordia University in 2009, and my Counselor Certificate from Region 13 in 2017.
As a counselor, I work with all teachers, parents, and students to create a safe environment where all students are able to take risks in order to achieve personal and academic success. I do this through classroom visits, smalls groups and individual meetings with students.

I am honored to serve the Andrews Community as a part-time school guidance counselor. I have worked for Austin ISD since 1997 and at Andrews Elementary since 2014. In addition to school counseling, I have experience as a teacher working with elementary students and hearing impaired students ages birth to high school. My work experience includes Texas, Connecticut and for the Department of Defense Schools in Germany. What I enjoy about school counseling is being part of the process that inspires students to achieve their personal best academically and socially. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
